ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Part of our job as the media program is to constantly keep reinventing ourselves. Below are some of the things I did to keep our program moving in the right direction.
I tried to gain more attention and excitement for the 2018 Aerie yearbook by adding something new. After attending J-Day at CSU, I got the idea to make a "Senior Scribble." It is a signature from each senior that is placed under their senior portrait. It gained positive buzz and excitement for seniors as well as starting a new tradition at Vista in the yearbooks. This is an example of what we had each senior do.
I decided to redesign a mobile app for VistaNow. We had it several years ago, but recently I worked on bringing it back. The process took a while and initially I thought going the route taken by the former MVM editor would be smart. Wordpress was harder to work with than I thought so I ended up using Xcode. I coded the app and made a mobile app for students, staff and parents to download and quickly and easily see our website. It is still in the works and I hope to publish it before the end of the month.
Each year, the media program is responsible for creating a Snapchat Geofilter that is representative of the yearbook theme. This is what I came up with. I thought it represented the yearbook theme I created well and would fit with any type of situation for student "Snapchatters" at Vista. In years past it brought a lot of excitement to the student body about the yearbook, I'm hoping it will do the same this year.
